Mary started out as a photographer for the Architectural Digest under Paige Rense. Later, she launched the company's personal Mary Finds category. The section featured short videos on the process of decorating and renovating homes. In the time she relocated back to Texas, Mary discovered a location to operate her antiques store and began a new business. A&E Television producers spotted her when she worked at the antiques shop and gave her the opportunity to appear in Texas' version of Storage Wars. The show ran for three seasons. Due to her fame, she was cast in the original Storage Wars in its fifth season. Storage Wars was a part of her life for the next seasons and she has been both on and off the reality show until the 12th season.
